GRADUATE STUDENT TRAVEL AWARD
Deadline: December 31, 2007
Purpose: To encourage graduate student participation in the Great Plains Soil Fertility Conference. The Travel Awards are supported by industry. Although the amount of donations vary, we are committed to providing a minimum of $200 cash to one student nominated by each of the Great Plains Universities participating in this Conference. If donations are adequate, the amount of each award will be increased. The Travel Award includes complimentary registration at the Conference.
Selection: Each University should select an individual and submit the final nomination to Alan Blaylock by December 31, 2007. The individual nominated should be focusing his/her graduate program in the area of soil fertility, plant nutrition, soil chemistry, or crop production. The exact fit of the graduate student to these categories will be left to the discretion of the University. It is mandatory that the student 1) present a poster, 2) provide a paper for the proceedings, and 3) attend the entire Conference to receive the Travel Award.
Procedure: The nomination should be accompanied by a short paragraph providing some information on the student, their graduate program, academic achievements, and the individual with whom the student is working.
Checks and recognition: Will be presented at the conference awards luncheon on Tuesday.
