About the Research Database

The engine that drives the educational programs of IPNI is scientific research. This database contains fundamental information on the research projects funded by FAR and IPNI and many of the products resulting from the research. Every North American project funded has a project number in which the first two letters designate the state or province where the research was conducted and the number following the letters is associated with a specific project within that state or province. You may sort projects by country, region, date, or general topic.

Products are viewable in the “results and reports” section within each project. They may include short articles or tables, published papers or reports, PowerPoint slide sets, spreadsheets, or other types of products based on the results of the study.

Studies in the “current projects” list are not completed and any results shown should be used with caution. The IPNI staff often post photos and in-season observations for these ongoing projects during the year in the “observations” section to offer an opportunity to stay abreast of projects of particular interest. The option is also offered to view only those projects that are completed.

This database is being filled starting with the most recent projects. Older projects will be added as resources permit.
